Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment Begins Saturday

Open enrollment on the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace through the Affordable Care Act, begins Saturday, Nov. 15.  The enrollment period extends through February 15, but enrollees are encouraged to sign up by December 15 to ensure coverage will begin on January 1, 2015.  Licensed Affordable Care Act navigators around the country are gearing up to assist people with signing up for coverage.  WGCU’s John Davis speaks with the regional director for the Health Planning Council of Southwest Florida’s Navigator Program, Lynne Thorp along with Florida Gulf Coast University Master of Social Work student and licensed Navigator Samantha Fender.
