The Broward County Sheriff's Office (BSO) is facing criticism over its handling of the fatal mass shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport last January.
An internal draft review released Friday by the Sheriff’s office points to a series of failures by authorities involved in the emergency response. The Sun-Sentinel reports that the review found that BSO's failure to take immediate control of the situation led to a series of errors and that communications between law enforcement agencies were in some ways ineffective. Stephen Hobbs, reporter for The Sun-Sentinel, which earlier launched its own investigation into BSO's response, examined the 99-page review.
