Famed inventor Thomas Edison was widely recognized for his contributions and innovations during his lifetime with honors and accolades from nations around the world as well as a host of honorary degrees. In more recent history, however, Edison’s reputation has come under fire online. He’s been vilified for the electrocution of Topsy the circus elephant, his association with friend and Nazi sympathizer Henry Ford, and for his alleged feud with rival inventor Nikola Tesla.
