Fishkind Commentary: Role of Gambling in Florida's Economy

Throughout the week, Florida legislators are discussing changes to the state's gambling regulations. Florida's Senate Gaming Committee is reviewing a $400,000 study they received Monday that was conducted to inform the debate over how to reform Florida's gaming laws.

WMFE's economic analyst Hank Fishkind says the committee's decision could have a big financial impact across Florida, and that gambling may already play a bigger role in the state's economy than many people think.

He explains the details of current and potential future gambling regulation, beginning with why the legislature is reviewing Florida's gambling laws now.
