Florida Emergency Managers Urge Residents To Monitor Storm Systems

Emergency managers urge Florida residents to get ready for a possible tropical storm or hurricane as Tropical Storm Isaac continues to gather strength as it moves west through the  Caribbean.  The current forecast track – and there’s still lots of wiggle room – puts the system as a category 1 hurricane off Naples Monday morning.  Emergency managers like Wayne Sallade with Charlotte County say now is the time to pay attention and prepare.

There’s still a lot of time and they do need to take protective measures and think about  what will you do, if  indeed come Friday that storm track still has it on Florida’s west coast.  I tell you I was at the store today and about 90 percent of the people coming out of that big box store had bottled water in their carts.”

Meanwhile a tenth tropical depression has formed in the Atlantic and will in all probability soon become Tropical Storm Joyce.
