Florida Filmmakers Focus on Water Quality, BP Oil Spill at Fort Myers Film Fest

The Fort Myers Film Festival raises the curtain on March 8, screening dozens of short and feature-length films for five days at various locations throughout the city.

The festival culminates with an awards ceremony at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre Sunday, March 12.

Wednesday at  1:30 p.m., festival’s organizer Eric Raddatz discusses the scope of the film festival and how selections were made for the 2017 event.

Steven Johnson of Veriscope Productions joins the program to talk about his “Black Tide” documentary, the opening night feature that looks at the challenges clean water proponents face in Southwest Florida

Also joining the show is John Scoular with Scoular Image. Scoular talks about his film “Paradise Reef" documentary which follows an attorney looking to make a difference after the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
