Florida health officials are monitoring six people who recently returned to the state from areas affected by Ebola. Governor Rick Scott emphasizes all six are deemed “low-risk” and the state has no confirmed Ebola cases.

“Mandatory twice-daily health monitoring is helping us attain important information that will assist us in caring for the Floridians who are returning to our state and preventing any spread of this deadly disease if any of these individuals ever develops possible Ebola symptoms within 21 days of their return", Scott said, briefing the state Senate during a conference call Tuesday. The governor also says the Florida National Guard is training two units as rapid response teams in case of an outbreak. And about 100 hospitals in the state have undergone special Ebola training.
