Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s activism will be highlighted this Saturday where Dunbar Community School in Fort Myers will host “From Podiums to Pulpits: Activists for Change.” The performance is an artistic tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy, as well as national and local figures who have contributed to the civil rights movement.

In the studio, we’ll be joined by the show’s director, Sonya Carter, and the chairman for the Dunbar Festival Committee, Martin Byrd, who is presenting the event as part of 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Weekend.   Derek Lively, the actor portraying Dr. King, will treat us to an excerpt of his monologue. Other events coming up next weekend are:

Mulitcultural Park Celebration at Centennial Park

Building a Better Community “Wall Rising” Habitat for Humanity Community Service Project
