All Aboard Florida’s Brightline rail service opens in the state this month, with trains running between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Early next year the service will expand to Miami and, in the future, to Orlando.

Here & Now‘s Jeremy Hobson talks with John Renne ( @jlrenne), director of the Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions at Florida Atlantic University, about what this new privately funded rail line means for the region and if it will spur similar projects around the country.
