Florida Governor Rick Scott is urging the state’s business leaders to let their legislators know incentive and marketing programs such as those provided by Enterprise Florida and Visit Florida are important.

“Call your legislator—your House member, your Senate member and let them know that if they cared about families jobs, they would be supportive of Visit Florida and Enterprise Florida. They would be supportive of reducing taxes when we walk in with budget surpluses like we have and they would make sure this is the place that every family has the chance to have the dream,” Scott said.

Scott made his comments during an Enterprise Florida Jobs Summit Thursday. His statement comes as lawmakers are preparing to consider a bill to eliminate Visit Florida and Enterprise Florida and transfer their duties to the Department of Economic Opportunity.
