Friday, Nov. 2, marks the second annual “Rock for Equality” event in Fort Myers to benefit the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and the Alliance for Fair Food. This year’s event is hosted by Point Ybel Brewing Company and the nearby music shop and performance venue Beach Records.
The duel venues will feature performances by Southwest Florida bands and musicians including Cobress, The Young Dead, Roxx Revolt, Bargain Bin Heroes, Duke Stamina, Demigod Duo, The Kimberlys, Kiki Lane
The multi-genre micro-festival will also include art vendors, food trucks and the unveiling of a new craft Point Ybel’s brew masters called “Fruits of Labor,” which features the tastes of dragon fruit, lime, and pineapple.
Organizers and performing musicians Frankie Colt and Angela Page join us in studio for a preview of Friday night’s event. Page is also founder of the non-profit Love Your Rebellion. We will also learn more about the grassroots efforts that this year’s fundraiser will benefit.
