Tadpoles

Southwest Florida’s warm wet summer weather creates ideal conditions for frogs to begin breeding. And on News-Press story teller Amy Bennett Williams’s rural homestead, that’s resulted in a flooded field covered in a blanket of tiny tadpoles. But as those pools of water recede, taking with them chances of survival for most members of that mass of ectoderms, it invokes a reflection on the precarious nature of life itself.
