This Veterans Day, we explore the opportunities and challenges veterans face in finding work in the private sector upon their departure from military service. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, some 573,000 veterans currently struggle with unemployment around the nation. With 1.5 million veterans, Florida is home to the third largest population of vets in the country. We take a closer look at local efforts through CareerSource Southwest Florida to help connect veterans with jobs and how experience through military service translates to valuable job skills in the private sector.
