Weak Tropical Development Possible in Gulf this Week

Even though most of the state will be dry this week from high pressure to the north, an area of low pressure is expected to form over the southern Gulf of Mexico. Invest 93 is given a "moderate chance" of developing from the National Hurricane Center as it drifts east-northeast over the next five days. Even though confidence is very low in how strong or when this system might develop, there is reasonable support from forecast data that it could influence the weather in south Florida over the coming weekend.
