Donald Trump

President Trump will be back in Tampa Monday for the first time since the election campaign. Spokesman Sean Spicer says he plans to visit MacDill Air Force Base.

Between 500–700 guests are expected to attend the American Red Cross Ball at Mar-a-Lago Saturday.

The annual fundraising gala has been held at Trump’s Palm Beach estate for almost 60 years without controversy.

Not so this year.

Two of the 27 plaintiffs in a lawsuit against President Trump's executive order temporarily banning some immigrants from coming to the United States are from Florida.

One is an unnamed Syrian man from Broward County and the other is Hassan Shibly, the director of Florida's chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations in Tampa.

The Trump Administration on Friday unveiled a series of immigration restrictions and temporary travel bans that quickly become flash points nationwide for immigration, terrorism, and national security.

The new restrictions, abruptly introduced Friday in the name of "protecting the nation from foreign terrorist entry," blocked travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries: Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen.

Protests continued on Sunday in the Tampa Bay area and across the U.S. after President Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily barring citizens from seven largely Muslim countries, as well as all refugees, from entering the country.

That order was blocked in part by a federal judge.
