Medical Records Fight Draws Attention At High Court

In a legal battle drawing attention from medical groups across the country, the U.S. Supreme Court could be close to deciding whether to hear a Florida case about the disclosure of medical records.

In a unanimous decision, the Pinellas County School Board has voted to join a potential lawsuit against the state.

It now joins Polk, Orange, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Broward and six other state school districts in agreeing to share costs of a legal challenge to a new education law in Florida.

Nursery Challenges Denial Of Marijuana License

A Homestead-based nursery is challenging a decision by state health officials to deny the grower a medical marijuana license.

The Pinellas County School Board is expected to vote Tuesday on whether or not to join a legal challenge to a controversial new education law.

The University of Florida signaled that white nationalist Richard Spencer will be allowed to rent space on campus — but at a new date yet to be determined.

The move, announced Friday, came as the university faced a First Amendment lawsuit over a controversial event originally planned for Sept. 12.
