Personal injury lawyer John Morgan is taking the state to court over its newly adopted marijuana law.  The outspoken medical cannabis advocate believes patients should be allowed to smoke the drug.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida is suing Miami-Dade County and Mayor Carlos Giménez for complying with a federal request to detain inmates who are in the country illegally.

The lawsuit is seeking to overturn the county's new policy after an 18-year-old U.S. citizen — who cannot be deported — was detained.

Miami Beach Doctor Files Lawsuit To Stop Mosquito Spraying

A Miami Beach doctor who last year helped spearhead angry opposition to using the pesticide naled has filed an emergency request in federal court to stop Miami-Dade County from conducting aerial spraying in its seasonal battle against native marsh mosquitoes.

A federal lawsuit filed this week by a 16-year old transgender student accuses the St. Johns County school system of discrimination.

The dispute between Governor Rick Scott and Orange-Osceola state attorney Aramis Ayala over the death penalty advances to state Supreme Court Wednesday morning with oral arguments. Attorneys for both sides will have twenty minutes to argue whether it was legal for Governor Scott to take two dozen murder cases from Ayala’s office and reassign them to fifth circuit prosecutor Brad King.
