Flood Watch Continues Today

WUFT

More than ten inches of rain fell over the weekend along the coast from Cape Coral to Fort Myers Beach, where extensive flooding has closed many roads, and even some schools and businesses in the area. Meteorologist Jeff Huffman says more rain may fall today, and that a Flood Watch continues through this evening.
“The area of low pressure responsible for weekend rains will slowly drift away from the region today. There will still be some areas of heavy rain, though - up to two inches in a few spots - and that could lead to additional flooding. By this evening, the heaviest will begin to shift further north.”

Huffman says a drier pattern will begin to evolve across the region tomorrow.
