The Ice House by Laura Lee Smith

An advertising executive who lives in north Florida, Laura Lee Smith has had her short stories published in several prestigious anthologies and journals. Her first novel, “Heart of Palm,” set outside Saint Augustine, was praised by Richard Russo for its sense of place and quirky characters. Smith’s second book, “The Ice House”, has  both qualities in equal measure.
