The Hendry County Sheriff's Office reports that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of an off-duty officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The AP reports, 20-year-old Eliceo Hernandez was arrested Monday and charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of FWC officer Julian Keen, Jr., in LaBelle.
Investigators say that they've determined through interviews that Keen and another man witnessed a reckless driver, and that Keen followed the driver in his truck. Keen was shot when he confronted Hernandez after both vehicles stopped.
