Hope Home in Collier County

David Lawrence Center, the mental health organization in Collier County, opened Hope Home—a house for men in recovery from substance abuse—at the end of June. It’s one of only four in Collier County.

Maggie Baldwin, who oversees adult substance use disorders programs at David Lawrence, hopes it will help fill the large need for this type of housing.

“Safe, affordable, FARR-certified recovery housing is very hard to find in Naples. In Collier County in general,” she says.

FARR is the Florida Association of Recovery Residences. That certification ensures that the house is following protocol.

The residents are helped and held accountable by recovery peers who visit daily. Residents have access to support groups and the services at David Lawrence.

The cost to the men is $200 per week for a private room and $150 per week for a double.

Baldwin says she hopes the house will provide the resources the men need to recover and to go on to live productive lives.

“The research shows that the longer a person is in treatment and then transitional living, the better the chances for having a sustained recovery,” says Baldwin.
