Hurricane Elsa’s Projected Forward Motion is Highly Uncertain. Here’s Why.

Elsa became the first hurricane of the 2021 Atlantic storm season this morning. According to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, Elsa is a category one hurricane moving across the eastern Caribbean Sea Thursday afternoon and into the night with maximum sustained winds near 80 mph.

WGCU’s John Davis recently spoke with meteorologist Megan Borowski in the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network Storm Center about the high level of uncertainty in forecast models when it comes to hurricane Elsa’s projected path.
