Tourism Star Performer in Weak Florida Recovery

Florida’s economic recovery is sluggish, with boom industries like construction losing jobs in recent years.

But the tourism industry is doing well by comparison.

Leisure sector jobs have grown across the state in the last three years, accounting for nearly a quarter of job growth.

Tourism led job growth is even higher in Metro Orlando, where it’s the dominant economic driver- but economic analyst Hank Fishkind says there are some worrying signs growth in the sector is slowing.
