The Lee County Emergency Operations Center announces closure of shelters located at Dunbar High School, Island Coast High School, and Varsity Lakes Middle School as of 6 p.m.
The general population is still able to shelter at East Lee County High School and the pet friendly South Fort Myers High School.
Special needs populations are still being sheltered at Harborside Event Center.
The following shelters are now closed in Collier County. These closings are the result of improving weather conditions and minimal power outages:
Immokalee High School, 701 Immokalee Dr., Immokalee
Immokalee Middle School, 401 9th St., Immokalee
Golden Gate High School, 2925 Titan Way, Naples
Cypress Palm Middle School, 4255 18th Ave NE, Naples
North Collier Regional Park, (including pet friendly services), 15000 Livingston Rd., Naples
The following shelter remains open until Monday, August 27, 7:00 a.m.:
Palmetto Ridge High School, 1655 Victory Lane
