A poll released this morning shows President Barack Obama with a very slim lead over GOP challenger Mitt Romney in Florida. The same poll shows Democratic U.S. Senator Bill Nelson opening a wide lead over his Republican opponent Congressman Connie Mack IV.
The Quinnipiac University/ New York Times/ CBS News poll shows President Obama with a one point lead in Florida over Republican Governor Mitt Romney. That’s well within the poll’s 3-point margin of error making the presidential race a virtual tie in Florida six days before the election.
President Obama now has 48% support in the poll to Gov. Romney’s 47%. In Florida’s U.S. Senate race, the poll shows Democratic incumbent Senator Bill Nelson leading his Republican challenger Congressman Connie Mack IV by a margin of 52% to 39%.
Quinnipiac surveyed 1,073 likely Florida voters over the past week. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 points.
