GOP Disappointed, Hope for Clear Outcome

One indication that the count wasn’t going well – was that only one statewide GOP official made an appearance at the state election watch party.

Agriculture commissioner Adam Putnam spoke to reporters before the presidential race had been called. But he acknowledged that the results in Florida were a lot closer than he’d anticipated.
Putnam said, "We’d hoped that Romney would have won with a margin as such that we would know the answer and of course we don’t know the answer just yet"

Putnam says he didn’t have adequate election data to know if the GOP was going to challenge results or if an automatic recount would be required.

"I think for everybody's benefit we hope that whoever wins wins in such a way that its clear and convincing and we move on", said Putnam

Putnam says the election proved one thing that Florida is the ultimate swing state due to its voters.
