Outspent Democrats Stinging from Loss

Democrats are stinging from Tuesday’s mid-term election results – starting with Charlie Crist’s 1 percent loss to incumbent Republican Governor Rick Scott. Ex-state Senator Dan Gelber was at the Crist campaign party Tuesday.

He says the state Democratic party was far outspent by Republicans in the governor’s race.“We came upon - you know - a mountain of money and we did our best, but we fell short. So it hurts a lot", Gelber said. "But you know look - if you love Florida, and your dream is for the right reasons, you pick yourself up, you dust yourself off and you move forward. And I think we’ll do that.”

More than $150 million dollars was spent in Florida’s governor’s race this year.

Republicans outspent Democrats by a two to one margin.
