First Amendment Foundation Opposes Witness Protection Bill

The Florida First Amendment Foundation is tracking 74 open government exemptions during this legislative session. The foundation, which focuses on keeping Florida’ public records open, says a so-called witness protection bill would make the criminal justice system less transparent.

Bill 475 would keep the information of witnesses in murder cases a secret. It has gotten bipartisan support through several committees.
