Zimmerman Lawyers Back in Court

Zimmerman’s lawyers want the court to remove his GPS monitoring and a restriction on travel outside of Seminole County. They say he needs to move freely throughout Florida both for his own safety and to allow him to meet with defense witnesses.

Defense attornies also want the original recording of an interview Martin family Lawyer Benjamin Crump conducted with a teenage girl who said she was talking to Trayvon Martin on the phone moments before he was shot.
In a motion asking for the recording, defense attorney Donald West says, quote: “the state should not be able to play hide and seek with the evidence”.

Prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda says the state will give the defense a digital copy of the recording at the court hearing.

Zimmerman’s fighting a second degree murder charge: he says Trayvon Martin attacked him, and he shot the teenager in self defense.
