Naples voice actor Peter Thomas died Saturday. He was 91. He joined the Army after graduating from high school in 1943 and was sent to Omaha Beach the day after D-Day. He received five battle stars, including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his military service in five major campaigns including the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.
He worked on the radio, as a news reporter and for CBS-TV in New York. He also narrated commercials and award winning documentaries.
As part of a project called “Vets: Stories of Service” for WGCU last year, Peter Thomas spoke frankly about his life-altering experience during World War II and his deep appreciation for his fellow soldiers, his country, and freedom. We’re re-running it today to remember him.
