February is national Children’s Dental Health Month and this weekend, Florida Southwestern State College will be providing services to local children, free of charge.

For over 10 years, FSW’s Dental Hygiene Clinic has hosted Give Kids a Smile day, where volunteer students and dentists treat children ages three to 17, free of cost.

"Those services would include a dental examination, x-rays, a dental cleaning, dental sealants," said FSW's clinical coordinator, Brenda Schwing.  "And also we give each child an age-appropriate toothbrush and tooth paste."

She says children will be served on a first come, first served basis this Saturday, Feb. 8 at FSW’s Dental Hygiene Clinic from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
