This weekend in downtown Fort Myers a group of 25 people from diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and races will come together for a daylong, intimate conversation about structural racism and implicit bias. The goal is to get people to be open and honest, and self reflective, when it comes to their own thoughts and actions in life.
It's being conducted by the FutureMaker Coalition's Equity Action Team, and is the first such event they’ve held since back in February, before the coronavirus came along. And it’s being held during the still-rising protest movement with daily protests still happening locally, across the country, and around the world. We’re joined by Tessa LeSage, Director of the FutureMakers Coalition and one of the facilitators at this weekend’s workshop; and Dr. Nicole King-Smith, is CEO & Chief Learning Officer at NK Enterprise Consulting and also a facilitator this weekend.
