We’re joined by University of South Florida professor Raymond Arsenault to learn about the Freedom Riders. The 2010 American Experience documentary "Freedom Riders"was based on his book of the same name. We’ll learn about the Freedom Riders, which were small groups of black and white people travelling together on buses in the early 1960s to deliberately violate segregation laws in the deep south. And we’ll talk about Congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis, who was one of the original Freedom Riders, and professor Arsenault’s friend.
