Robert Jones, Jr., and Justine Cowan

On this episode of the Gulf Coast Life Book Club, we hear from Robert Jones, Jr., author of THE PROPHETS. The Prophets tells the story of Samuel and Isaiah, two gay men enslaved on a deep South plantation, who find an unlikely love there. The book was an instant New York Times bestseller and was chosen by Good Morning America, the Washington Post, and O Magazine as a most-anticipated book.

We also hear from Justine Cowan, author of THE SECRET LIFE OF DOROTHY SOAMES. Cowan grew up in the San Francisco area, always thinking her mother had descended from royal blood. It wasn’t until her mercurial and difficult mother died that Justine decided to investigate. It was then that she learned that her mother had been raised in London’s abusive and cruel Foundling Hospital.
