LOOIZ VIA FLICKR

The annual session of the Florida Legislature begins Tuesday with a proposed budget from Governor Ron DeSantis of $91.3 billion.  In addition to the task of passing a balanced budget, lawmakers will consider a broad range of legislative proposals concerning issues ranging from water quality protection and environmental conservation to bills concerning firearms and school safety, education, healthcare, medical marijuana, fracking and beyond.

Join our expert panel as we take a closer look at the opportunities and challenges facing lawmakers as they prepare to begin this year’s 60-day session.  We’ll be speaking with Florida Gulf Coast University Political Science Professors Peter Bergerson, Ph.D, and Roger Green, Ph.D.  We’ll also be joined by University of Central Florida Political Scientist Aubrey Jewett, Ph.D., and long-time journalist covering Florida government and politics and South Florida Sun Sentinel columnist Steve Bousquet.
