A man was arrested in Charlotte County on Tuesday in connection with a child pornography investigation in Canada.

The suspect, 37-year-old Nathan Potter, was arrested by a Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office detective at the Flamingo Motel in Punta Gorda.

According to the CCSO, Potter had been identified by Canadian authorities as coercing a child to send nude photos of herself through mobile apps. Law enforcement officials in Georgia were also pursuing Potter after having identified him in a similar complaint.

Potter was charged with possessing photographs of sexual performance by a child and compiling computer pornography involving a minor. Both charges are third degree felonies.

Potter is currently being held without bond at the Charlotte County jail.
