January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention month. Human trafficking is a crime that involves force, fraud or coercion to make someone perform labor, services or commercial sex, as defined by the U.S. Department of Defense. Join us as we discuss the impact of human trafficking with Lauren McCraney and Nola Theiss, the program coordinator and executive director, respectively, of the Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships.
It's partnering with Florida Southwestern State College to raise awareness for those affected by human trafficking with several events at the FSW Lee campus. Dr. Wendy Chase, humanities professor at FSW, also joins us in the studio to discuss the upcoming awareness events.
