When married couple George and Carol Shannon vacationed at Cabo San Lucas, neither one of them imagined that their trip would end the way it did. Carol suffered a debilitating stroke on the last day of the vacation, which radically changed the course of their lives. George co-wrote about the experience that made him his wife’s caregiver with his son, Chad Patrick Shannon, in the new book “The Best Seven Years of My Life: The Story of an Unlikely Caregiver.”
