The son of a piano and voice teacher, Matt Hembling played piano from age 5 and saxophone from age 12. He taught himself to play guitar and began writing songs in high school. “I don’t really remember a time when music wasn’t part of my world view,” said Hembling.
He counts Billy Joel, George Gershwin, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and progressive rock as influences for his jazzy rock sound. The Canterbury graduate attended Belmont University in Nashville and is now at Edison State. Hear him at facebook.com/matthemblingmusic or on YouTube.
