Planning for End of Life Care

Discussions about end of life care are something many of us would, understandably, prefer to avoid. However, medical providers and elder care advocates remind us it’s important to think about it, discuss it with our loved ones, and take steps to ensure our desires are carried out.  A Pew Research Center Study finds 71 percent of Americans have thought about what kinds of treatments they would want or not want, but that just 29 percent actually have a living will.  We’ll be speaking with the hosts of a “Five Wishes” workshop taking place later this month in Fort Myers for a closer look at planning for end of life care and some common misconceptions about advance directives, hospice and palliative care.

The Five Wishes Workshop initially scheduled for July 20th has been postponed until September.  An exact date is still pending.  The workshop costs $50 per person. Contact Stephanie Borden for more details:  (239) 424-0182 or YoungSB30@gmail.com
