Jun 5, 2017

Weeks after lawmakers wrapped up their work in Tallahassee, Gov. Rick Scott is calling them back to the capital for a special session. On Gulf Coast Live, Sen. Kathleen Passidomo joins the show to discuss what she's focusing on for Southwest Florida when it comes to the state budget and the special session.

Sen. Passidomo, a freshman Republican for District 28 representing Collier, Hendry, and parts our Lee County who represented the region from 2010-2016 in the state House, talks about the past legislative session, what decisions still have to be made when it comes to the state’s nearly $83 billion budget, and key decisions on everything from tourism to education to medical marijuana.

Sen. Passidomo and her legislative colleagues head back to Tallahassee for the special session starting Wednesday, June 7.
