Lee Health/NCH Report Slight Decrease in COVID-19 Patient Volumes
Officials with the Lee Health and Naples Community Hospital healthcare systems both report a slight decrease Thursday in COVID-19 patient volumes. Lee Health’s four acute care hospitals are currently treating 296 COVID-19 positive patients, which is down from 310 patients Wednesday.

Don again a tropical storm; low pressure system moves west; heat advisory sustains in SWFL, S. Fla.
Hurricane Don was short-lived, returning to tropical storm status Sunday and likely to lose tropical characteristics by early Monday while a low pressure system still has a chance to become a tropical depression during the next few days while it moves westward across the tropical Atlantic and eastern Caribbean Sea. Additionally, heat advisories were continued in most of Southwest and South Florida.
NCH and Florida Blue still at odds over contract; deadline is Sept. 30; viability of care network at stake
Florida Blue health insurance and NCH Healthcare System are coming dangerously close to being unable to reach a contractual agreement. NCH may be considered out of network at the end of September if the two parties can’t come to an agreement.
