Rattle Snake

News-Press story-teller Amy Bennett Williams regularly brings us tales of her encounters with the wildlife of Southwest Florida that also call this region home. Such encounters often inspire curiosity, a connection with the natural world and even awe. Of course, when it’s a rattlesnake advancing on a pair of children, protective instinct throws all of that out the window. But the encounter provided an opportunity for an impromptu anatomy lesson, and even in that, Williams tells us, she’s able to find the beauty.
