The lights went dark at the Historic Arcade Theatre in downtown Fort Myers at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Still, the Florida Repertory Theatre rose to meet the pandemic’s extraordinary obstacles to providing quality theatre performances with a variety of virtual content, and then shifting in the spring to outdoor performances.
Now the Florida Repertory Theatre is unveiling plans for a reimagined season kicking off this fall. Offerings, run the spectrum, as usual, but given the hardships of the past year, the theatre company is making a point of delivering performances with messages of “hope, human connection and renewal.” Florida Repertory Theatre’s Artistic Director Greg Longenhagen joins us for a preview of the anticipated upcoming season.
