Blues and Rock Musician Johnny Winter

Grammy award winning guitarist, singer and producer Johnny Winter headlines the Southwest Florida Blues Festival Nov. 23 in Cape Coral.  Winter is best known for his prolific blues and rock recordings and performances in the 1960s and 1970s and he also produced three Grammy award winning albums for Blues legend Muddy Waters.  We recently caught up with Winter for a conversation about his start in music, stories about some of his favorite music collaborators over the decades and selections from his latest album “Roots” which is an homage to the origins of blues music.
