The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida has been serving the community for four decades now. The nonprofit serves people over 60, and adults with disabilities, in Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Sarasota counties.
And, sometime this week the agency anticipates picking up the phone on its elder helpline for the 500th time. We're joined by its director of communications, Kirsten O’Donnell, to talk about the milestone, and how they plan to observe the half-millionth call.
