The new film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood starring Tom Hanks is now in theaters. So, we’re listening back to a conversation WGCU’s John Davis had in 2015 with art therapy pioneer, Dr. Judy Rubin about her film, “Lessons From Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” which explores the educational and psychological lessons used by Fred Rogers on his iconic children’s program which ran on public television from 1966 through 2001. Dr. Rubin worked with Rogers, appearing as ‘The Art Lady’ in the early years of the show.
