Local Arts Nonprofits Respond to COVID-19

As the new coronavirus continues to spread, and many businesses are shutting down as social distancing guidelines are extended, one part of the local economy that’s been hard hit is the nonprofit arts sector.

While season schedules that had been in place for months have ground to a halt, organizations are beginning to host virtual events – and artists and performers are continuing to do their best to entertain and engage audiences, thanks to modern technology.

 

We're getting a snapshot of the local arts scene, and how it’s responding to the COVID-19 outbreak with Lydia Black, she’s Executive Director of the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers.

And today is National Census Day, which is a reminder for all residents of the United States to take part in the decennial population count.
