According to Gene McAvoy from UF/IFAS normally this time of the year about 15 million pounds of produce leaves Immokalee every single day. And this year had been a good one for south Florida farmers. But, that number has been reduced by about 80% since mid March when social distancing guidelines went into place.

A large percentage of those millions of pounds of produce coming out of Immokalee are tomatoes, and most of those are being grown by Lipman Family Farms. It's one of the nation's largest tomato growers. We talk with its Director of Community Relations and Government Relations, Jaime Weisinger, to find out how their business operations have been impacted, and the steps they've taken to ensure the health of workers.
