Lucia Jenkins comes from a musical family and she’s been playing guitar since she was a teenager. She also plays harmonica, mandolin, and a bit of the accordion. She teaches elementary school where she runs a ukulele club. Her husband Bob Cox has a music degree, plays the piano, bass guitar and he also teaches music in an elementary school. They’ve been performing together for 24 years. Jenkins writes their music, saying she’s drawn to rhythms and world music. Music, said Jenkins, “is so important to me I don’t know how to express it except that you know it’s just so great to have a creative outlet and if I could do it all day I probably would.” They play locally at open mic nights.
